Idris and Sabrina Elba are saying thanks, but no thanks to recent reports that they had a baby.
Monday on social media, the “Luther” actor set the record straight, writing in a tweet, “[Sabrina] and I thank you for all the congratulations but we haven’t had a baby... that’s not true.”
The alum of “The Wire” added, “Don’t believe everything you read. Stay safe.”

Don’t believe everything you read.
Stay safe. 🖤
The confusion began when Idris said in a recent interview with ET Canada that he’s “a father of two boys” while discussing his new movie “Concrete Cowboy.”
“So, it really resonated to me. I’m a father of two boys, and definitely… I can’t wait for my youngest to see this film,” he said about his role, in which he plays the father of a young Black teenager growing up in America.
Considering that the leading man shares 18-year-old daughter Isan and 6-year-old son Winston from previous relationships, many outlets interpreted his comments to imply that he and Sabrina welcomed a child of their own.
A source later told ET Canada that the actor was referring to his godson when saying he is the father of “two boys.”
Idris and Sabrina met in Canada while he was filming the 2017 thriller “The Mountain Between Us.”
“Falling in love while making a movie about falling in love is pretty special,” he told now-former People editor in chief Jess Cagle on “The Jess Cagle Interview.”
The couple got engaged in 2018, and tied the knot the next year in Marrakesh, Morocco.
