Demi Lovato is making it clear that she’s no longer engaged to Max Ehrich.

On Thursday, People reported that the “Sorry Not Sorry” singer and “The Young and the Restless” actor called it quits just over two months after he popped the question on a beach in Malibu.

“It was a tough decision, but Demi and Max have decided to go their separate ways to focus on their respective careers,” a source told the outlet. “They have respect and love for one another and will always cherish the time they spent together.”

Shortly after the news broke, the musician posted an Instagram Story of her visibly not wearing her ring while wearing a T-shirt with the text, “Dogs Over People.”

After they began dating in March, Lovato announced their engagement two months later on IG.

“I knew I loved you the moment I met you,” she captioned their engagement photos. “It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all.

“You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself,” she continued. “I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!!”

When I was a little girl, my birth dad always called me his “little partner” - something that might’ve sounded strange without his southern cowboy like accent. To me it made perfect sense. And today that word makes perfect sense again but today I’m officially going to be someone else’s partner. @maxehrich - I knew I loved you the moment I met you. It was something I can’t describe to anyone who hasn’t experienced it firsthand but luckily you did too.. I’ve never felt so unconditionally loved by someone in my life (other than my parents) flaws and all. You never pressure me to be anything other than myself. And you make me want to be the best version of myself. I’m honored to accept your hand in marriage. I love you more than a caption could express but I’m ecstatic to start a family and life with you. I love you forever my baby. My partner. Here’s to our future!!!! 😩😭❤️🥰😍 Ps. THANK YOU @angelokritikos FOR HIDING BEHIND ROCKS AND CAPTURING THE ENTIRE THING!!! I love you boo!!!

The next month, Lovato told “The Morning Mash Up” that the coronavirus quarantine “accelerated” their relationship.

“We were able to share this time together that we wouldn’t have normally gotten to spend,” she said on the SiriusXM Hits 1 show. “And that accelerated our relationship on a level that you can’t really explain to people, but quarantine either makes or breaks the deal. And it really made that. So I’m really blessed, really fortunate and continuing to count my blessings every day.”

Earlier this month, Lovato denied allegations that Ehrich wrote tweets professing his love for Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Miley Cyrus.

“It’s really sad when people FAKE images to put women against each other. If women have conflict that’s between them NOT YOU,” she said on Instagram, adding, “Yes, it’s easier to tear apart celebrities and their relationships because 2020 sucks and scares the ---- out of us all but it’s only gonna stay terrifying until we address it all and WORK ON SOLUTIONS TOGETHER.”
