Naya Rivera’s Sister Seems to Confirm She Has Moved In with Late Actress’ Ex-Husband

Naya Rivera’s younger sister Nickayla is responding to reports that she has moved in with Naya’s ex-husband Ryan Dorsey — just over two months after the “Glee” actress drowned in a July 8 boating accident.

On Monday, The Daily Mail reported that Nickayla, 25, and Ryan, 37, have moved into a three-bedroom, $5,000-a-month rental home to care for Ryan and Naya’s son Josey, now 5. The outlet said the two will receive help from Ryan’s parents.

The outlet also published a number of photos, including a blurry picture dated September 19 in which Nickayla and Ryan appear to be holding hands inside of a Los Angeles-area Target.

After the explosive story went viral, Nickayla released a statement on her Instagram Story in which she does not deny moving in with Ryan.

“I’m not concerned with the way things look because no one can see each agonizing moment we all endure,” she wrote.

In her message, Nickayla wrote that the only important things to her are her “friends & family,” particularly her nephew Josey.

"In the darkest time of my life, the only thing that is important is my friends & family. Showing up for my nephew even though I can't show up for myself," the model wrote, adding, "What matters most I've learned, is to show compassion, not to judge others and never take a moment for granted. I hope you all can do the same."

In pictures dated September 6, Nickayla, wearing a cropped black T-shirt, is seen helping a shirtless Ryan move belongings from his previous home in North Hills to their reported new rental.

In pictures from two days later, Nickayla and Ryan load furniture from his old home into a rented yellow moving truck.

The next day, the two were spotted doing yard work.

On September 19, Nickayla and Ryan were photographed at a Target, where an eyewitness told The Daily Mail that they “were fooling around” and seemed “comfortable together.”

“They seem really comfortable together and are obviously helping each other through a very difficult period in both their lives,” the source told the outlet. “They were fooling around and chatting the whole time. They're obviously helping lift each other's spirits.”

Naya and Ryan married in July 2014 and finalized their divorce in June 2018.

After going missing on July 8, Naya’s body was found days later on July 13 in Lake Piru near Ventura, California.

Authorities believe that Naya may have spent her final moments saving her son, who was found alone on a boat wearing a life jacket.

On July 14, the Ventura County medical examiner released an autopsy confirming Naya’s cause of death to be an accidental drowning. The report also said there was no evidence of injury or intoxication.

Naya was laid to rest July 24 at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills, Hollywood.
