Here’s a confession: Usher is a dad for the third time!
On Wednesday, the “U Got It Bad” singer announced that he and girlfriend Jenn Goicoechea have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl named Sovereign Bo.
People reports that Jenn gave birth Thursday, September 24, in Los Angeles.
“We are feeling blessed and full of love with the arrival of our beautiful baby girl, Sovereign Bo Raymond,” Usher wrote on Instagram over an adorable photo of him caressing his bundle of joy’s hand.
“‘Isn’t She lovely’ by Stevie Wonder on repeat,” the musician added.
Usher also shares sons Naviyd Ely, 11, and Usher V (a.k.a. Cinco), 12, with ex-wife Tameka Foster.
“Usher and Jenn are overjoyed, and so is the whole family, including Sovereign’s big brothers. Everyone is so happy and excited,” a source told People.
People previously revealed that the couple were expecting earlier this month, with an insider saying, “Usher’s very excited to be a dad again. They’re both thrilled to be expecting.”
Usher then confirmed the baby news during a September 4 interview with “Good Morning America,” saying his sons are “elated” and “excited” about their new sibling.
“Babies always bring such joy to a family and [I’m] really excited for my young one — well, my bean’s arrival,” he said.
While speaking to James Corden earlier this month, Usher confirmed he would not give his baby his own moniker.
“I’m not like George Foreman — I can’t name all my kids George,” he joked on “The Late Late Show.”
“If it’s a girl, I don’t think that Usher would flow well. To be perfectly honest, I’m trying to figure out which way to go. I got a few names in line, but maybe you can help me — give me some suggestions.”
He continued, “I’ve had a few [ideas]. Just been trying to get down to maybe a middle name. My second son has a middle name; Usher does not have a middle name… I’ve been motivated by where we are in life. Something maybe relevant to this time?”
Congratulations to Usher and Jenn on their baby news!
