Arroz con Gandules Recipe

Ingredients:
2 cups white rice
1 can (drained) gandules
3 - 4 tablespoons olive oil
2 cloves garlic (crushed)
2 – 3 tablespoons of sofrito
1 can (8 oz.) Tomato Sauce
Salt
Water

Instructions:
• On medium heat add 3 to 4 tablespoons of olive oil to pan.
• Add 2 tbsp crushed garlic cloves and let simmer.
• Next add 2 to 3 tablespoons of sofrito and let simmer.
• Followed by adding one 8 oz. can of tomato sauce and 1 can of gandules (drained).
• Let simmer for about ten minutes.
• Next wash 2 cups white rice and add to pan.
• Add 2 cups water.
• Followed by adding salt to taste.
• Let simmer until water evaporates.
• Stir and turn the heat on low.
• Cover and let cook for about 20 minutes.
