Actor Francia Raisa alleges she was harassed by “violent” Donald Trump supporters on a Southern California freeway.
In an emotional video posted to Instagram Story on Sunday, the “Grown-ish” star claims she almost crashed her car after Trump supporters allegedly boxed her in on the 405 freeway.
TMZ reports that a caravan of cars — waving Trump flags and posters — was traveling on the popular highway to potentially attend a Newport Beach fundraiser that day.
"I was just on the 405 and I got stuck in that stupid Trump rally and they ------- boxed me in and they're pointing at me and laughing at me, saying, 'Ha ha.' And literally, I almost crashed because they wouldn't let me out," the 32-year-old said through tears. "I was trying to go around it, and they were all stopping and going."
"They boxed me in on the ------- freeway; all I wanted to do was go around, and they were just being so violent. I could've crashed. I could've ------- crashed," the actress continued. "It was so dangerous, and I just don't understand why that's the country that y'all are supposedly wanting right now. Really? That's what makes America great?"
"That's ------ up. I could've ------- died right now. That was so ------- dangerous," Raisa added. "Pointing at me and laughing at a Mexican. Oh God, that was really ------- scary."
Raisa appears to reference Trump’s history of making comments — branded as racist by many — against Mexico and its citizens. When he announced his presidential candidacy in June 2015, Trump referred to Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and promised to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.
After Raisa’s alarming video went viral, Amber Riley — who co-starred with Raisa in Jordin Sparks' music video for "Red Sangria" — came to her defense.
"Francia FaceTimed me freaking the ---- out today, 'cause she was on the 405 and the little Trump rally on the 405 decided to box her in her car. A woman driving by herself. But they saw a Mexican in a car and decided to ---- with her," the “Glee” alum said on her IG Story. "I was on the phone; I saw this myself."
In September 2017, Raisa made headlines when it was revealed that she had donated one of her kidneys to friend Selena Gomez, who has lupus.
