Lisa Marie Presley Breaks Silence on Son Benjamin’s Death

Lisa Marie Presley is speaking out for the first time publicly about her son Benjamin’s tragic July 12 suicide.

On Wednesday, what would have been Benjamin’s 28th birthday, Lisa posted a touching photo of her son at a previous celebration.

In the picture, Benjamin sits in front of a lit birthday cake while wearing a festive party hat.

“My beautiful beautiful angel, I worshipped the ground you walked on, on this earth and now in Heaven. My heart and soul went with you,” she wrote in the caption. “The depth of the pain is suffocating and bottomless without you every moment of every day. I will never be the same.”

“Please wait for me my love, and hold my hand while I stay to continue to protect and raise your little sisters [Harper and Finley Lockwood, Lisa’s twins with estranged husband Michael Lockwood] and to be here for Riley [Keough, Benjamin’s sister and Lisa’s daughter with ex-husband Danny Keough]. I know you would want that,” she continued.

“Happy Birthday my sweet sweet Boy. You were much too good for this world.”

Back in July, The Sun reported that Benjamin was found by police around 6:30 a.m. PST at a Calabasas residence.

A family source told The Sun that Benjamin “had been struggling” prior to his death.

“Other family members were told early in the morning. It is shocking news, but it also isn’t a huge surprise, as he had been struggling. Everyone is heartbroken and devastated,” the insider said.

Days later, the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner’s office completed an autopsy that officially ruled Benjamin’s death to be a suicide.

The Daily Mail wrote that Benjamin reportedly committed suicide at a joint birthday party for his then-girlfriend, Diana Pinto, and brother-in-law, Ben Smith-Petersen, who is married to Riley.

After Benjamin’s passing, both Riley and grandmother Priscilla Presley shared tributes on social media.

These are some of the darkest days of my family’s life. The shock of losing Ben has been devastating. Trying to put all...

Per TMZ, Lisa had previously spoken about Benjamin’s uncanny resemblance to his grandfather, Elvis Presley.

“Ben does look so much like Elvis. He was at the Opry and was the quiet storm behind the stage,” Lisa was quoted as saying. “Everybody turned around and looked when he was over there. Everybody was grabbing him for a photo because it is just uncanny.”
