Blue Ivy Carter is lending her talents to yet another high-profile project.
Monday on social media, Matthew A. Cherry — writer and director of the Oscar-winning animated short film “Hair Love” — announced that the 8-year-old is narrating the film-based audiobook.
Cherry posted a short clip of Blue’s beautiful voice on Twitter:
The 2019 film tells the touching story of a Black father attempting to do his daughter’s hair for the first time.
Last May, the tale was released as a children’s book with illustrations by Vashti Harrison.
The film is also being developed into an animated TV show at HBO Max called “Young Love.”
Of course, Beyoncé and Jay-Z’s eldest daughter is no stranger to stealing the spotlight.
In February at the 51st annual NAACP Image Awards, Blue took home the honor for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration alongside her mom, Guyanese singer SAINt JHN, and Nigerian artist Wizkid for their song “Brown Skin Girl.”
In November 2019, Blue and her “Brown Skin Girl” collaborators took home the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards.
