Benny the Butcher appears to be okay after surviving an alleged robbery attempt over the weekend in Houston.
On Monday, the Houston Police Department told TMZ that the rapper and his friends were in a Walmart parking lot when a car pulled up. Five men inside allegedly took out guns, demanding that Benny and his friends hand over their chains.
Police spokeswoman Jodi Silva added to The New York Post that the alleged suspects were masked.
Authorities say Benny and his group began removing their chains, but the suspects believed they were moving too slow. That’s when one of the assailants allegedly fired a round into Benny's leg before the group fled.
Benny and his friends left as well, but eventually pulled over and called the police.
The musician was then taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
The Post adds that Benny’s friends were not hurt in the incident.
Sunday on Instagram Stories, Benny posted a video of himself walking toward a private jet with crutches indicating he had left the hospital.
Cops tell TMZ that the suspects, who were reportedly seen in a Chevy Malibu, are still at large and that an investigation is underway.
