‘Love & Hip-Hop’ Star Rah Ali Gives Birth to Daughter!

Rah Ali has welcomed a baby 17 months after suffering a pregnancy loss.

On Monday, People broke the news that the former “Love & Hip-Hop: New York” star and her husband welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Anaiá Ali.

Born on Wednesday, November 11, baby Anaiá was delivered at Mercy Hospital in Miami, weighing 7 lbs., 14 oz., and measuring 18 inches long.

As to why she named her daughter Anaiá, the VH1 personality told the outlet, “I chose it because it’s Arabic and means ‘protected, diligence,’ and I strongly feel God covered she and I the whole way.”

Ali previously announced her pregnancy in August, telling People, “I’m so overwhelmed with joy that it’s a challenge even finding the words to express how thankful I am.”

In May 2019, TMZ reported that Ali gave birth to a daughter prematurely at five months gestation. Sadly, the baby passed away minutes later.

At the time, a source told the outlet that Rah’s previous doctor visits revealed no troubling signs.

TMZ also reported that Ali’s friend Nicki Minaj had been calling and checking on Rah in an attempt to lift her spirits.

Months later, Ali opened up about her loss to People, calling it “the worst experience of my life.”

“When you’re pregnant with your first child, it’s a whole mental thing just knowing that you’re going to deliver,” she said. “Every day you count down and see [your due date] getting closer and closer. At five months, I hadn’t even come to the realization that it was going to happen. It was the worst experience of my life.”

Despite her tragedy, Ali told the magazine she had received immense support from friends, family, and other women who had gone through similar situations.

Congratulations to Rah on your new addition!
