‘Mean Girls’ Star Jonathan Bennett Is Engaged!

Aaron Samuels is getting married!

On Monday, People broke the news that Jonathan Bennett, famous for his role in “Mean Girls,” got engaged to boyfriend Jaymes Vaughan!

In an interview with the outlet, the actor opened up about the moment when Vaughan — an anchor on “Celebrity Page” — got down on one knee and asked for his hand in marriage.

At a family gathering, Bennett — who thought he was taking Christmas card photos — was told by his sister to come outside.

When Bennett did, he saw his boyfriend hold up a sign that read, “We never did find our song, so I wrote it for you.”

“And then I heard a song playing from a place I didn’t even realize we had a speaker and Jaymes told me to just listen. It was Jaymes’s voice singing the most beautiful song I had ever heard, a song about our relationship,” Bennett explained.

“I’ve always loved his voice, and to hear his voice singing to me was really special. It’s hard to describe what it feels like to have a song written about you that is so specific and that reassures all your insecurities. It was the best song I’ve ever heard.”

While Bennett was filming the Hallmark Channel’s “The Christmas House” in Canada, Vaughan teamed up with his friend Tanzer to write a song dedicated to his love for Bennett.

After playing the song, Vaughan got down on one knee and proposed to his “best friend”!

“When I saw Jaymes take a knee, I was so excited I just started hysterically screaming because I didn’t know how to express myself properly,” Bennett recalled. “There was a moment when you feel like, ‘Oh, this is forever, I understand it.’ I screamed ‘Yes’ immediately. Actually it was, ‘Yes! Of course!’”

As for their wedding, Vaughan and Bennett are still figuring out the theme for their big day.

While Vaughan wants “classic, timeless,” Bennett is hoping for “something between when Elphaba flies in the musical ‘Wicked’ and the finale number of ‘The Greatest Showman.’”

“So essentially a child’s birthday party?” Vaughan joked.

Regardless of how their ceremony looks, Bennett cannot “wait to get married!”

Congratulations to Jonathan and Jaymes on their engagement!
