Mariah Carey Is in Talks to Turn Memoir into a TV Show or Movie!

Mariah Carey’s juicy memoir will potentially be turned into a television show or movie!

While appearing on “The Tonight Show” Monday night, the “Always Be My Baby” singer revealed she is in talks to turn “The Meaning of Mariah Carey,” co-written with Michaela Angela Davis, into a screen adaptation.

“There’s rumors that it’s going to be adapted into a movie or a TV series — is that true?” asked host Jimmy Fallon.

In response, the legendary musician replied, “We’re talking about some things. I really feel like it should; that was always my goal,” adding, “But it was important to write the book first, ’cause there’s so much, and then to pick and choose how we translate that.”

When Fallon brought up murmurs that Lee Daniels, who directed Carey in 2009’s “Precious,” was circling the project, Mariah would not confirm or deny the rumors!

“We love Lee. Lee [is] one of my dearest friends and he gets me in a way that most people don’t,” she said. “But I’m not allowed to say yes, no, maybe so. Only Lee. Only Lee tells little leaks about things.”

As to who would play her, Carey said her team is currently “figuring out different takes on that.”

“As you know, there’s a lot of... they’re gonna have to have quite the range,” she said of the potential actress.

In her book, Carey dropped the bombshell that she and ex-fiancé James Packer did not have a “physical relationship.”

She also discussed ex-husband Nick Cannon, the father of her twins Moroccan and Monroe, and said she regrets how tumultuous their divorce was.

“Honestly, I think Nick and I could have worked it out between the two of us, but egos and emotions got inflamed (which can translate into many billable lawyer hours, and ultimately it did),” she wrote in the book.

“It was tough. We both wanted to make sure everything was cool for our family. We will always be family, and we make it work.”
