Talent clearly runs in Blue Ivy Carter’s family!
Sunday on Instagram, Tina Knowles Lawson shared an adorable video of her grandchild showing off her moves to Ciara’s 2010 single “Gimmie Dat.”
In the clip, Blue, the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, busts a groove in what appears to be a dance class.
In her caption, Ms. Tina says the 9-year-old reminds her of her daughter Solange when she was around that age.
“Thi [sic] is Blue but I swear it looks like Solange dancing at this age,” Tina wrote.
After the clip went viral, a number of social media users gave props to Blue for her impressive dance skills.
“Blue said ‘hold my Juicebox real quick,’” one Instagram user wrote.
“WHEN YOUR MOM IS BEYONCE AND TT IS SOLANGE… GON HEAD BLUE,” another added.
Of course, Blue isn’t just a talented dancer, she’s also an award-winning songwriter!
In November 2019, Blue took home the Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award at the 2019 BET Soul Train Awards for co-writing “Brown Skin Girl” from “The Lion King: The Gift” album.
Months later in February 2020, she and her “Brown Skin Girl” co-writers won for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration at the 51st annual NAACP Image Awards.
Last November, writer and director Matthew A. Cherry announced that Blue is narrating the “Hair Love” audiobook based on his Oscar-winning animated short film of the same name.
