Nicole Young alleges estranged husband Dr. Dre held a gun to her head, punched her in the face, slammed her against a wall, and lifted her off her feet by her neck in newly surfaced court documents.
According to legal papers obtained by The Daily Mail and “Entertainment Tonight” dated January 5, Young — who filed for divorce from the rapper in June — says she was subjected to physical and emotional abuse during their 24-year marriage.
The Daily Mail says Young made these allegations after the hip-hop producer reportedly declared in past filings that “at no time did I abuse Nicole or threaten her physical safety.”
However, Young claims Dre "blatantly lies” and that he has "verbally and emotionally decimated my personhood to the extent that I currently suffer from post-traumatic stress syndrome."
In her court documents, Young alleges that Dre held a gun to her head on two occasions, on January 8, 2000, and on November 20, 2001.
She also alleges that he punched her in the head/face twice, in 1999 and on January 8, 2000.
Additionally, Young details an alleged 2016 incident in which Dre kicked down the door to her bedroom when she was "hiding from his rage.”
While Young concedes Dre’s previous point that police were never called to their home during their marriage, she says it was because she feared him.
However, she accuses Dre of omitting “the fact that the police were called in approximately September 1995, shortly before our marriage, after he slammed me up against a wall and lifted me off the floor by my neck.”
"I have also offered extensive and painful testimony about Andre's relentless campaign of abuse and control over me for more than half of my life," she said. "It is misleading, revolting and insulting for Andre to suggest that I have not been abused because, as a victim of relentless abuse and isolation, I did not create and maintain a contemporaneous record of abuse inflicted on me."
On the same week of Young’s recent filing, The Blast reported that Dre has agreed to pay his estranged wife $2 million in temporary spousal support.
Per the agreement, Young will be responsible for covering her living expenses and security fees until April.
Also that week, Dre was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles after suffering a brain aneurysm.
Though Dre released a statement shortly afterward saying he is fine and should be out of the hospital soon, TMZ reported Monday that he is still in intensive care as doctors try to figure out the cause of the aneurysm.
