Lil’ Kim Says Teyana Taylor Could Play Her in Biopic

Lil’ Kim’s life story could be coming to a screen near you!

In an interview with Essence posted Wednesday, the iconic rapper was asked if she would consider signing off on a documentary or film based on her career.

While answering, “Both,” the MC admitted that she has “a few offers” on the table.

“I have a secret, but I can’t tell you,” she said coyly, adding. “It’s dealing with me and my life a little bit, kinda.”

When asked if she had an actress in mind to play her, she initially answered, “No,” explaining, “I see my movie in parts. So I have to find the perfect little girl, then I have to find the teenager, then I have to find the perfect teenager into almost like young adult, and then I play the remaining part myself.”

However, Kim then mentioned how she could see Teyana Taylor playing her in the flick.

“I love Teyana, she’s my only other thought. There’s nobody else in the industry at all but Teyana.”

Kim added that “even before Teyana” (who is from Harlem, New York), she “would love to give some little girls from Brooklyn a chance so I can connect. Really connect.”

“It can only be a girl that’s from the hood that I’m from,” she said previously.

Regardless of who will portray her, Kim teases that the media will “know in another month” what the secret project is.

If Teyana does in fact play Kim, it wouldn’t be the first time the 30-year-old has channeled the icon.

Back in 2016, Teyana paid tribute to Kim at VH1’s “Hip Hop Honors” by performing one of her songs.

“I went completely into my Kim bag in the mirror all day long. Eat, sleep, think Kim. STUDIED, appreciated her era!” Teyana said following the performance. “Thank you @lilkimthequeenbee for your inspiration, choosing me, believing in me and for knocking down the door for other young women that dream big.”
