Ashanti and Keyshia Cole brought the vocals during their highly anticipated Verzuz showdown!
Thursday night on Instagram Live, the two R&B singers went head-to-head as they played their biggest hits.
Sadly, the night was not without its hiccups.
The battle — which was rescheduled twice — got off to a slow start when Cole showed up about an hour late.
“Finally here!” Cole said when she arrived a little after 9 p.m.
Despite facing some audio issues, the session went on as planned and was watched by over 1 million viewers.
While Ashanti played jams such “Happy” (round 1), “Rock wit U (Awww Baby)” (round 4), “Rain on Me” (round 8), and “Foolish” (round 17), Cole played tunes including “I Remember” (round 5), “Heaven Sent” (round 11), and “Let It Go” (round 16).
When Cole played “Love” in round 8, she was joined by rapper O.T. Genasis — who famously parodied the song in the 2019 track “Never Knew.”
Afterward, fans went on Twitter and wrote positive sentiments about the battle.
The Verzuz started off a lil shaky but ended up being a great vibe
