Mark your calendars, because Lamar Odom and Aaron Carter will duke it out in an upcoming boxing match!
On Wednesday, TMZ broke the news that the 41-year-old former NBA player will take on the 33-year-old pop star at the Showboat Casino in Atlantic City June 12 in a three-round exhibition.
Aside from their age difference, the two competitors greatly differ in height: Odom is 6’10”, Carter is 6’1”.
Additionally, Odom — who was formerly married to Khloé Kardashian — has a background in sports, having played 14 seasons in the NBA.
While Carter appears to be the underdog, he told TMZ Sports that he "grew up street fighting."
Per the outlet, both fighters have already begun training by putting in hours at the gym.
Organizer Damon Feldman believes the Odom vs. Carter fight has the potential to be the best celeb boxing match in history.
"It's gonna be a war, man. It's gonna be a knockout, no doubt,” Feldman said.
Back in October 2015, Odom was hospitalized after he was found unconscious at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nevada. The incident left him with ruptured kidneys, collapsed lungs, and a heart that stopped twice.
Years later, in 2019, he returned to the courts by playing a brief stint with the BIG3 league.
After getting engaged to Sabrina Parr that November, the two confirmed their split last December.
Carter, who has also been open about his struggles with addiction, went to rehab in 2017.
Although cops were called to his California home in December 2019 in regard to a possible overdose, Carter told TMZ that he neither took pills nor did he threaten to harm himself.
