Michelle Obama to Star in Children’s Cooking Show!

Michelle Obama is coming to the small screen!
On Tuesday, it was announced that the former first lady will star in and executive produce a Netflix children's cooking show called “Waffles + Mochi,” available for streaming March 16.
In the 10-episode series, Obama plays a supermarket owner who discovers, cooks, and eats food with puppets Waffles and Mochi.
“With the help of friendly new faces like the supermarket owner, Mrs. Obama, and a magical flying shopping cart as their guide, Waffles and Mochi blast off on global ingredient missions, traveling to kitchens, restaurants, farms and homes all over the world, cooking up recipes with everyday ingredients alongside renowned chefs, home cooks, kids and celebrities,” Netflix said in a statement.
I'm beyond thrilled to share that on March 16, I'll be launching a new show on @Netflix called Waffles + Mochi! I'm excited for families and children everywhere to join us on our adventures as we discover, cook, and eat delicious food from all over the world. pic.twitter.com/dedUWMp9SY

The fun show is also collaborating with Partnership for a Healthier America, where Obama serves as honorary chair, to provide fresh ingredients to families during the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2018, Michelle and husband Barack signed a deal with Netflix to produce TV shows and movies through their company, Higher Ground Productions.
Last year, Obama launched “The Michelle Obama Podcast,” featuring conversations with her friends and family.
