Rev. Al Sharpton Files for Divorce from Estranged Wife

Reverend Al Sharpton has filed for divorce from wife Kathy Jordan — 17 years after their separation.
As reported by TMZ on Thursday, the civil rights activist and Baptist minister filed the legal paperwork that day in New York City.
Citing court records, the New York Post says Sharpton filed for a contested divorce in Manhattan Supreme Court.
While touring with James Brown in 1971, Sharpton met Jordan, a backup singer. The two then married in 1980 and separated in 2004. They share two adult daughters, Dominique and Ashley.
The New York Post also reports that the 66-year-old has been frequently spotted with his 42-year-old “girlfriend” Aisha McShaw at his East 65th Street condo.
The Daily Mail adds that Sharpton and McShaw have been linked since 2013, when they were first pictured together at the New York County Democratic Committee Award Ceremony.
The outlet says McShaw reportedly told those at the event that she was Sharpton's “girlfriend.”
TMZ adds that it is unclear if either Sharpton or Jordan will be seeking spousal support.
