Kim Kardashian Has Filed for Divorce from Kanye West

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are breaking up after six years of marriage.

As reported by TMZ on Friday, the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” star has filed for divorce from the rapper and is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple’s four children: North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 20 months.

However, the outlet reports that neither party is contesting the divorce, and the two are reportedly far along in reaching a property settlement agreement.

The documents, filed by lawyer Laura Wasser, do not list a date of separation.

Rumors of a split between Kardashian and West first emerged last month when Page Six published a report that said “divorce is imminent” for the two.

Per a source, West did not spend the holidays with the Kardashian family and was instead at his ranch in Wyoming.

“Kim got Kanye to go up there [Wyoming] so they could live separate lives and quietly get things sorted out to separate and divorce. She’s done,” an insider said.

The Page Six source also claimed that Kardashian grew weary of West’s public antics.

“She is serious about taking the bar exam and becoming a lawyer, she is serious about her prison reform campaign. Meanwhile Kanye is talking about running for president and saying other crazy ----, and she’s just had enough of it.”

A separate source said Kanye “is completely over the entire [Kardashian] family… He wants nothing to do with them,” adding that he eventually found their E! reality TV show “unbearable.”

Last year, West made headlines when he wrote on Twitter that he had “been trying to get divorced since Kim met with Meek at the Warldolf [sic] for ‘prison reform.’” He appears to be referencing a November 2018 criminal justice summit attended by Kardashian and rapper Meek Mill.

West also referred to Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, as “Kris Jong-Un.”

Last month, a source told “E! News” that Kardashian held off on filing for divorce because “she wants to make sure she’s making the right decision for the kids.”

“It’s not about the marriage anymore. She’ll always care for Kanye, but it’s over between them. Kim is only focused on what’s best for the kids. It’s a tough decision for her and she’s figuring it out.”

The source also claimed “they haven’t spent time together as a married couple in months.”

“They’ve seen each other for the sake of the kids but have been living separately. Kim knows the marriage is over. She’s known for a while.”

After they began dating in April 2012, while Kardashian was still legally married to NBA player Kris Humphries, Kardashian and West tied the knot May 24, 2014, at Fort di Belvedere in Florence, Italy.
