Ree Drummond’s husband Ladd and nephew Caleb were involved in a collision near the family’s farm in Osage County, Oklahoma, on Wednesday.
Per a report from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol obtained by People, the crash took place around 1:43 p.m. about eight miles west of Pawhuska.
Reportedly, Caleb, 21, was driving southbound in a Himmat Fire Truck while Ladd, 57, was driving northbound, also in a Himmat Fire Truck.
Per FOX23, both men were responding to fires that were spreading toward the family ranch.
Due to “high winds on a gravel road” that caused visibility to be decreased, both trucks reportedly hit one another “head-on.” Caleb “was ejected approximately 70 feet from point of rest.”
Per the report, neither Ladd nor Caleb was wearing a seat belt.
Caleb was taken to the St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, where he was admitted in critical condition with head, arm, leg, and internal injuries.
The OHP report said Ladd “refused treatment at the scene.”
However, in an update provided Thursday on Facebook, Ree said both men are in the hospital and “we think they will both be okay.”
“I want to thank you all for your prayers for our family. Caleb and Ladd are in the hospital, but we think they will both be okay. As a family we are giving thanks today, knowing things could have been much worse. Thank you all for your love and kindness. It means a lot,” wrote the star of Food Network’s “The Pioneer Woman.”
Wishing Caleb and Ladd a speedy recovery.
