UPDATE! 3/3/21 10:13 a.m. PST
Despite previous reports of a breakup, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have announced they are still a couple.
In a joint statement released Saturday to People, the two said, “We are working through some things.”
Additionally, a source clarified to the outlet, “They never officially broke up and talked about it but are still together. They hit a rough patch. But were not broken up.”
In regards to rumors that Rodriguez cheated on Lopez with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy, the source confirmed that this speculation "had no bearing on the rough patch at all. "
In February, an insider close to Rodriguez told the Post that the athlete “doesn’t know” LeCroy and “definitely didn’t hook up with her.”
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are reportedly no more.
On Friday, Page Six reported that the actress and the baseball player have called it quits, just two years after getting engaged.
“He’s now in Miami getting ready for baseball season, and she’s filming her movie in the Dominican Republic,” an insider told the outlet.
TMZ adds that the couple broke up that day.
Just last month, Lopez posted pictures of the two hugging and kissing in the Dominican Republic, where she is filming her new movie, “Shotgun Wedding.”
Although there were reports this week that said the two were moving forward with their twice-postponed wedding, Miami sources told Page Six that they were actually in the process of breaking up.
Earlier this year, there were rumors that Rodriguez got too close with “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy.
During the “Southern Charm” reunion in January, LeCroy admitted that she communicated on Instagram with a married baseball player who reached out to her, but denied that she “flew to Miami” to hook up with him.
“He contacted me, and yes, we DMed, but other than that there was nothing… I’ve never seen him [or] touched him,” she told host Andy Cohen.
Though a source said Rodriguez may have “liked” one of LeCroy’s IG photos, the insider told the Post in early February that he and LeCroy “didn’t hook up,” as he “doesn’t know” her.
“He doesn’t know this woman,” an insider close to the ex-MLB star told the outlet. “Look, does this mean he didn’t DM her and liked a photo or two? I guess not, but he doesn’t know her — and he definitely didn’t hook up with her.”
That day, LeCroy told the Post that she and A-Rod have “never met up” but have reportedly “spoken on the phone.”
“That’s the truth,” she said, adding that they’ve “never been physical… never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance.”
“He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me,” LeCroy continued but said she “talked to him randomly, but not consistent.”
LeCroy also described the nature of these reported conversations as “innocent.”
Despite this supposed drama, Lopez and Rodriguez put on a united front for press. In early February, they were spotted going out to dinner in Miami, and days later, attended Super Bowl LV together.
Lopez and Rodriguez announced their engagement in 2019, after having dated for over two years.
