Ilana Glazer has a bun in the oven!
In an interview with “Entertainment Weekly,” the “Broad City” star confirmed she is expecting her first child with husband David Rooklin.
The actress’ baby news coincides with the release of her upcoming horror film “False Positive,” in which she plays a woman who undergoes nightmarish IVF treatments with a fertility specialist.
“This was not supposed to happen this way, but it’s just so eerie and cosmically funny that it has,” Glazer said about the movie’s June 25 Hulu release. “I’m lucky; I’m in control, unlike our protagonist. I don’t feel like I’m having the rug pulled out from under me in any way.”
With regard to taking pregnancy advice from friends and family, Glazer said she is “not afraid to ask a billion questions.”
“There are certain trends in society of how pregnancy should look — the ‘shoulda coulda wouldas’ that are put on women all the time but are so amplified in pregnancy. I’m specifically seeking out the most spiritually healthy and welcoming experience,” she said.
Glazer and Rooklin tied the knot February 2017 at New York’s City Hall.
In a 2014 profile on Glazer and her “Broad City” co-star Abbi Jacobson, The New Yorker said Rooklin was a scientist who at the time was doing postdoctoral work in molecular modeling at New York University.
