Lil’ Kim to Release a Memoir!

Lil’ Kim is gearing up to release a future best-seller!

On Wednesday, People broke the news that the iconic rapper will release her upcoming memoir, “The Queen Bee,” on November 2.

“I’m excited to finally get to tell my story after all this time,” Lil’ Kim told the magazine. “Many people have thought they knew the story of Lil’ Kim, but they have no idea.”

Co-written with Kathy Iandoli and published by Hachette Books, the book will detail the MC’s upbringing in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, her professional and romantic relationship with the late Notorious B.I.G., and her 1996 double-platinum album, “Hard Core.”

“Lil’ Kim not only blazed trails for women in hip-hop, but also inspired the careers of those who followed,” the book’s press release adds.

“However, life at the top hasn’t been easy, either. Lil’ Kim also talks about the hidden moments of her reign: her complicated high-profile relationships, the misogynistic industry she fought to change through sex positivity, the challenging double standards of self-image and beauty in the spotlight, and the momentous act of loyalty that ultimately landed her in prison.”

In 2005, the artist was convicted of three counts of conspiracy and one count of perjury after she lied to a federal grand jury about what she witnessed in a 2001 shooting between her entourage and rival rap group Capone-N-Noreaga. She was ultimately released from prison on July 3, 2006.

The memoir promises to be “a true page-turner from start to finish” that delves deep into Kim’s “candid” life.

“‘The Queen Bee’ is every bit as fierce, empowering, and badass as the woman at the heart of this story — and firmly cements her legacy as a true feminist icon,” the press release continued.

Back in January, Kim coyly hinted to Essence that she could be signing off on a biopic or documentary about her life.

When asked if she had an actress in mind to play her, she initially answered, “No,” as she sees the potential “movie in parts.”

“So I have to find the perfect little girl, then I have to find the teenager, then I have to find the perfect teenager into almost like young adult, and then I play the remaining part myself,” she explained.

However, Kim then mentioned how she could see Teyana Taylor playing her in the possible flick.

“I love Teyana, she’s my only other thought. There’s nobody else in the industry at all but Teyana.”

Kim added that “even before Teyana” (who is from Harlem, New York), she “would love to give some little girls from Brooklyn a chance so I can connect. Really connect. It can only be a girl that’s from the hood that I’m from.”
