Kim Kardashian Reveals She Didn’t Pass ‘Baby Bar’ Exam

Kim Kardashian has endured a setback in her pursuit of becoming a lawyer.
In a sneak peek at Thursday's episode of “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kim revealed to her sisters Kourtney and Khloé that she did not pass the “baby bar” — which, in her case, would allow her to continue her law studies for three more years.
“I did not pass the baby bar,” the mother of four says in the clip.
Kim goes onto explain that because she is in a four-year program, as opposed to a typical three-year, she must take the “baby bar” after her first year.
“This one actually is harder, I hear, than the official bar,” she adds.
During a virtual meeting, mentor and lawyer Jessica Jackson tells Kardashian that she scored 474, points away from the required 560.
“That's extremely close on the test that most people are not taking during the pandemic,” Jessica assured her.
Despite Jessica's encouraging words, Kim declares, “I am a failure.”
In her confessional, Kim says she studied for six weeks straight, 10 to 12 hours a day.
“To not pass gets your spirits down. It makes you want to give up.”
Although she didn't pass, Kourtney and Khloé commended Kim on her hard work and believe that their father — the late Robert Kardashian Sr., who famously worked as a defense attorney for his friend O.J. Simpson — would be proud of how much she has accomplished.
“I feel like Dad would be really proud of you regardless,” Kourtney said. “Just the fact that you're pursuing this.”
Although she is able to take the exam again in a month, Kim is unsure whether she'll have the time, as she has already booked a trip for her 40th birthday and must film the finale for her E! show.
“I'm filming the ending of our show, which will be so emotional. I have every birthday under the sun — it's my 40th. I planned this whole trip and it's too late cancel,” she says. “And if I fail again, it's like, what's the point?”
However, Khloé and Kourtney are concerned that if she waits to take the test, she will lose all of the knowledge she has gained.
“I feel like I just got to the end where I almost knew everything,” Kim says. “I could try... or I could just give up. I really need to think about it.”
Kim first revealed her plans to become a lawyer in an April 2019 interview with Vogue where she said she hopes to take the bar exam in 2022.
Although Kim never finished college, she is still able to pursue law, as California allows individuals to pass the bar by “reading the law,” or apprenticing with a practicing lawyer or judge.
