Simone Biles Wins 7th National Title!

Simone Biles is unstoppable!
On Sunday, the celebrated gymnast won her 7th national title at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, with a score of 119.650.
In addition to winning the all-around title, the 24-year-old placed first in the vault, balance beam, and floor exercise, as well as third in the uneven bars.
While Sunisa Lee came in second place with 114.950, Biles’ training partner Jordan Chiles rounded out the top three with 114.450.

“I feel like I did try to enjoy it because it could be one of my last championships that I’ll attend,” Biles was quoted saying via the Olympics website. “But it’s also the road to Tokyo, and after this we have trials, so we just have to really embrace the moment.”
With this win, Biles has the most all-around national titles by any American woman in history. According to the Olympics, she was previously tied with Clara Schroth-Lomady, who won titles in the late ’40s and early ’50s. Alfred Jochim, 1925-30, 1933, is the only other U.S. gymnast to claim seven U.S. titles.
The Olympian won her first U.S. Championship title in 2013 and has taken home the gold almost every year since, except in 2017 and 2020.
Biles has also qualified for the U.S. Olympic team trials, held June 24 to 27 in St. Louis. If no further postponement or cancellations occur, the Tokyo Olympics will begin July 23.
Last month, Biles — who has won individual Olympic gold medals in all-around, vault and floor; bronze in balance beam; and gold as part of the United States team — wowed social media when she completed the Yurchenko double pike at the U.S. Classic.
“I was just thinking, do it like training. Don’t try to, like, overdo anything, because I have a tendency, as soon as I raise my hand, to overpower things and I did a little bit, but I was still on my feet,” she told NBC Sports about the historic vault.
“It’s a new vault and I’m proud of how today went, even though it was a little bit rough and uncharacteristic, but it was OK.”
With regard to the viral moment, Biles added, “Yeah, it is everywhere. It’s pretty crazy, but it’s also nice to see all the support from all over the world.”
