16-Year-Old ‘Flash’ Actor’s Cause of Death Revealed

“The Flash” star Logan Williams’ cause of death has been revealed.
According to the coroner’s report obtained by the New York Post on Wednesday, the 16-year-old actor passed away this April in Burnaby, British Columbia, from an “unintentional illicit drug toxicity (fentanyl)” that was classified as “accidental.”
“Toxicological analysis detected fentanyl in a range where lethal outcomes have been reported,” the coroner added. “Even small amounts of fentanyl have been shown to be potentially toxic.”
The report added that Williams “struggled with mental health concerns and had a history of consuming illicit substances.”
On April 1, officials say Williams left the residential care home where he was staying and was reported missing to the authorities.
When he returned, he “appeared agitated and under the influence of a substance.”
After going to bed, where he “appeared to be sleeping,” staff then tried to wake him up, as “he was unresponsive and not breathing.”
Paramedics “did not attempt resuscitation as it was apparent that Logan was deceased. Drug paraphernalia was located near to Logan’s body.”
Months earlier in February, officials say Williams was found unresponsive after allegedly consuming substances. After he was resuscitated, he was “diagnosed with a significant brain injury that affected his memory and functioning,”
After news of Williams’ passing broke, “Flash” co-star Grant Gustin wrote a tribute on Instagram.
“Just hearing the devastating news that Logan Williams has passed away suddenly. I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set,” Gustin said. “My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them. Please keep Logan and his family in your thoughts and prayers during what has been a strange and trying time for us all. Sending love to everyone.”

In May, after a preliminary toxicology report showed that Williams died of a fentanyl overdose, Williams’ mother Marlyse told the Post that she has vowed to bring awareness to the opioid epidemic.
“His death is not going to be in vain,” she told the outlet. “He’s going to help a lot of people down the road.”
Logan will be missed.
