Shocking Video Shows Woman Shoving Passenger Into Oncoming NYC Train

A woman has been charged and arrested after a video shows her shoving another passenger into an oncoming train in New York City.
As reported by PIX11, the New York Police Department says the suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Anthonia Egegbara, pushed a victim at the Times Square station into the side of a northbound No. 1 train on Monday just after 8 a.m.
Fortunately, police confirm that the victim, identified as a 42-year-old woman, did not fall onto the subway tracks. She was rushed to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening facial injuries.
In a shocking video posted by the NYPD, the suspect is seen sitting on a bench before she gets up and pushes the victim, wearing a blue backpack, as the train enters the station.

On Tuesday, PIX11 reports that Egegbara was taken into custody just after 9:30 a.m. on an attempted murder charge.
“This unprovoked attack was senseless and absurd,” MTA Acting CEO Tim Minton said in a statement Tuesday. “The city needs to provide additional health services to assist those who may endanger themselves and others. The NYPD’s rapid identification and arrest in this case makes riders safer.”
As of this writing, it is unclear if the alleged attack was random.
It is also unclear if Egegbara has entered a plea or if she has retained an attorney.
