Dr. Dre Reportedly Served with Divorce Papers at Grandmother’s Funeral

Dr. Dre was reportedly served with divorce papers at the cemetery where his grandmother was laid to rest.
Per a report from TMZ published Wednesday, at the funeral on Monday, the rapper and producer was reportedly confronted by a process server who presented papers regarding his ongoing and contentious divorce from wife Michelle Young.
While sources connected to Dre said the process server came up to Dre while he was standing by his grandma’s casket at the burial site, sources connected to Nicole say he was served in the cemetery’s parking lot after the burial.
Reportedly, Dre “recoiled in anger” and refused take the documents in hand.
Sources close to Dre say the process server dropped the documents by the grave site, but sources close to Nicole say they were dropped in the parking lot.
The outlet reports that the papers were related to Nicole’s lawyer fees, and how a judge signed off on an order that Dre owed a total of $1,550,000 — $325,433 of which was paid.
TMZ says Dre believes he paid the full amount and does not owe $1,224,567 — despite what Young and the court say.
Back in June 2020, Young filed for divorce after 24 years of marriage, citing irreconcilable differences.
Since her filing, the two have engaged in a dramatic legal battle that has been heavily played out in the media.
In January, days after Dre reportedly agreed to pay Nicole $2 million in temporary spousal support, legal papers obtained by the Daily Mail and “Entertainment Tonight” reveal that Nicole alleges she was subjected to physical and emotional abuse during their marriage, including two incidents where Dre allegedly held a gun to her head.
In a previous filing, Dre said, “At no time did I abuse Nicole or threaten her physical safety.”
In March of this year, Dre’s lawyer filed documents requesting a bifurcation of Dre’s divorce — in an attempt to declare him single in the eyes of the law.
Per the papers, Dre mentions Nicole’s alleged “false allegations of domestic violence” and says he tried to settle the divorce since her filing last year.
Dre and Young tied the knot in 1996 and share two adult children together, son Truice and daughter Truly.
He is also dad to four other kids: daughters Tyra Young and La Tanya Danielle Young, as well as sons Marcel and Curtis, from previous relationships. Sadly, son Andre Young Jr. passed away in 2008 at age 20.
