Tammy Rivera Claims She Was Racially Profiled at CVS

Tammy Rivera claims she was racially profiled by a CVS manager who treated her “like a criminal.”
In a video posted Sunday on Instagram, the “Babymama” singer filmed herself at the retail location, accusing an employee reportedly named Ginger of following and watching her through the aisles.
“I’m in CVS. I come here almost every other night. I know every person that works in this store. I came here to get a satin hair wrap and some Doo Gro Oil. This lady sat here—she must be new—she sat here, and she watched me on the aisle. [She was] acting like she was fixing stuff on the aisle. I’m watching her watch me, right?” Rivera said.
The incident then escalated when the employee allegedly told the “Love & Hip Hop” star to not open the package of a head wrap, which Rivera said she was going to pay for.
“She [was] watching me so hard that when I opened this package, she said, ‘Don’t do that!’” Rivera said. “I said, ‘Who you talking to?’ [She said, again,] ‘Don’t do that!’ I said, ‘If I’m buying this, I can do what I want!’ [She replied,] ‘No, you cannot! Don’t do that!”
Rivera — who is married to rapper Waka Flocka Flame and is mother to daughter Charlie Rivera — went on to say that the woman spoke to her like “a child” and asked her to leave.
“I tell her, ‘Call the police!’” Rivera said in response.
In the caption, Rivera tagged CVS and blasted the employee’s alleged behavior.
“I AM DISGUSTED IN YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I am a care customer and I come in this store almost every other night cause it’s 24hours!” Rivera wrote. “Her name is Ginger and she have nerve to be a MANAGER! Please tag @cvspharmacy I work tooo damn hard to be stalked in between [aisles] and talked to and treated like a criminal!”

In a follow-up video, Rivera said the employee ended up calling the police and apparently described her to authorities as a “brown skin woman.”
“I just felt like, “Why did that even matter?’” Rivera said.
Overall, Rivera says she just wants “to be treated like a human being.”
“I’m a regular person too. So I’m not expecting no special privileges or anything like that. I believe that you greet the janitor with the same respect that you greet the CEO,” she said. “I just want to be treated the same as a human. That’s all.”
