Wendy Williams’ Ex-Husband Is Reportedly Engaged

Following his divorce from Wendy Williams, Kevin Hunter is reportedly engaged to Shanina Hudson.
On Tuesday, a source close to Hunter told The Sun that Hunter proposed to Hudson — who reportedly welcomed a baby girl with him while he was still married to Williams — with a ring rumored to be valued at $80,000. Page Six also confirmed the engagement news.
While it’s unclear when Hunter proposed, the insider told The Sun that he reportedly purchased the ring in 2020.
Ajay Anand of Rare Carat told The Sun that ring is around 4 carats with a “round center diamond set in an intricate setting” with a band that has “a three row pave, while the center stone is surrounded by a diamond halo.”
After marrying Hunter in 1997, Williams filed for divorce in April 2019 after Hudson reportedly gave birth to a child with Hunter. Hunter and Williams share one son together, 18-year-old Kevin Hunter Jr.
At the time, Hunter released a statement, possibly alluding to his alleged affair.
“I am not proud of my recent actions and take full accountability and apologize to my wife, my family and her amazing fans,” he said in a message obtained by outlets including Page Six. “I am going through a time of self-reflection and am trying to right some wrongs.”
In January 2020, Williams and Hunter finalized their divorce with both parties agreeing to forgo alimony.
However, per court documents obtained by Page Six, Williams agreed to keep a $1 million life insurance policy on herself that will go to Hunter should she pass. However, she has the right to reduce the amount on a yearly basis.
Williams is also responsible for covering Hunter’s health insurance under her current policy.
Additionally, Hunter and Williams’ joint bank account will go to Williams and all of Hunter’s shares in production company Wendy Williams Productions Inc. will be signed over to Williams.
Hunter also received an undisclosed lump sum from Williams, and a severance payment from Wendy Inc.
In a January 2021 interview with “Extra,” Williams accused Hunter of being “a serial cheater” who apparently “had different mistresses.”
“This last one was the one he had the longest-term relationship with,” Williams added, potentially alluding to Hudson.
Because of Williams’ ongoing health issues, she was forced to miss the Season 13 premiere of her daytime talk show. Instead, the show has featured guest hosts, including actresses Leah Remini and Whitney Cummings.
Earlier this month, the show released a statement saying Williams will continue to be under professional care due to her Graves’ disease and thyroid condition.
“Wendy continues to be under medical supervision and meets with her medical team on a daily basis. She is making progress but is experiencing serious complications as a direct result of Graves’ Disease and her thyroid condition,” the show said in a statement. “It has been determined that more time is needed before she is able to return to her live hosting duties.”
