Law Roach’s 3-Year-Old Nephew Passes Away After Falling from 17-Story Window in Chicago

The 3-year-old nephew of stylist Law Roach has died after authorities suspect the young boy fell from a 17-story window in Chicago.
According to multiple outlets including People, Chicago police say Lamar Roach Jr. died on Tuesday, November 23, around 10:40 p.m. local time after he fell out of a window that had the screen pulled inward on the 17th floor of a building.
After Roach Jr. was “found unresponsive laying on the sidewalk outside of the building,” he was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A public information officer from the Cook County Bureau of Administration also told “E! News” on Monday that Roach Jr. suffered multiple blunt-force injuries.
Per People, his death is currently under investigation and there are no potential suspects in custody.
The Chicago Tribune adds that detectives are investigating the incident as accidental.
Roach — who has styled actresses including Zendaya, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Kerry Washington — confirmed the tragic news last week on Instagram Story, writing, “Thank you all for the prayers and well wishes. This is the toughest thing I’ve ever had to deal with. No one should have to bury a 3 yr old baby.”
While sharing a Tribune article about the event, the “Legendary” star added, “I keep reading this over and over hoping to not recognize his name ... my God!”
Per People, the Cook County medical examiner’s office identified the boy on Wednesday and conducted an autopsy on Thursday.
Last week, the Tribune obtained a statement from Department of Buildings spokesman Victor Owoeye, who wrote in an email that the building was last inspected on March 19.
“1120 N. Lasalle is currently in compliance with our exterior wall ordinance requirements as ownership submitted the required report on 03/19/21,” Owoeye wrote. “In that report, the owner’s structural engineer certified that the exterior wall and windows were in a safe condition.”
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lamar’s family and loved ones for their loss.
