The Weeknd Is Dropping New Music THIS WEEK!

2022 is off to a great start — with help from The Weeknd!
Monday on Twitter, the “Starboy” singer announced that he is dropping his new album, “Dawn FM,” this week on Friday.
As seen in a promotional video, the LP will feature appearances from Jim Carrey, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Tyler, the Creator.
“A new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd,” text from the video read.

On Sunday, the Canadian artist, born Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, hinted at the exciting news when he tweeted, “Wake up at dawn tomorrow...”
The day prior, he shared a screenshot of text messages between him and his creative director, XO Records co-founder La Mar Taylor.
“Happy New Year brother! What we thinking ??” Taylor asked.
“Happy new year! Everything feels chaotic again,” the singer replied. “Music can heal and that feels more important than another album rollout. Let’s just drop the whole thing and enjoy it with the people… XO.”

In addition to dropping new tunes, the musician is gearing up for his After Hours til Dawn Stadium Tour this summer. Though tour dates have not been released, he is expected to travel to North America, Europe, South America, Asia, Australia, Africa, and the Middle East.
Aside from music, The Weeknd is working on a new drama for HBO where he will serve as star, co-writer, and executive producer.
As reported by Deadline in July of last year, the project — co-created by “Euphoria” EP Sam Levinson and the musician’s producing partner Reza Fahim — centers on a female pop singer who starts a romance with an enigmatic L.A. club owner, also the leader of a secret cult.
