Jesse Williams Sued for Car Crash!

Jesse Williams is being sued for allegedly leaving the scene of a car crash, a claim he denies.
On Wednesday, TMZ reported that a woman named Paula Bruce has filed a lawsuit against the former “Grey’s Anatomy” star for a January 2020 vehicular accident in Los Angeles.
Per the papers, Bruce alleges that the actor not only caused the event but also fled the scene.
Overall, she is claiming that the incident caused her emotional distress and missed wages due to alleged injuries she suffered in the crash.
While Williams’ attorney, William Briggs, admitted to TMZ that his client rear-ended Bruce, Williams did not “flee” the scene.
After the crash, Briggs says Bruce told Williams she was all right, and that Williams called the cops, who advised both parties to exchange insurance information.
Briggs also claims there were no injuries from the incident.
Williams’ attorney says his client stuck around to take photos of the crash, provided to TMZ, and got Bruce’s insurance and license plate numbers.
Briggs also says Williams’ assistant came and waited at the scene for a tow truck while Williams left to avoid the paparazzi.
The lawyer also says Williams checked in on Bruce a few days after the crash, and she allegedly said she was fine.
Briggs said that’s why he was surprised when Bruce’s attorney contacted Williams’ insurance to demand $1.6 million for a “hit and run.”
Briggs says he has attempted to speak with Bruce’s attorney, who informed him that the lawsuit was going to be filed.
Overall, Williams’ counsel says the lawsuit is nothing more than a “blatant attempt to extort” the actor.
Last May, Williams — who portrayed Dr. Jackson Avery on “Grey’s Anatomy” — announced he was leaving the hit medical drama after 12 seasons.
“I will forever be grateful for the boundless opportunities provided [to] me by Shonda, the network, studio, fellow cast mates, our incredible crew, Krista, Ellen and Debbie,” Williams said, referencing show creator Shonda Rhimes, showrunner Krista Vernoff, co-star Ellen Pompeo, and director Debbie Allen.
“As an actor, director and person, I have been obscenely lucky to learn so much from so many and I thank our beautiful fans, who breathe so much energy and appreciation into our shared worlds,” he continued.
“The experience and endurance born of creating nearly 300 hours of leading global television is a gift I’ll always carry. I am immensely proud of our work, our impact and to be moving forward with so many tools, opportunities, allies and dear friends.”
