Texas Dad Saves Son from Rampaging Bull at Rodeo!

A dad in Texas saved his son from a rampaging bull after the 18-year-old fell from the animal and was knocked unconscious.
In a video posted to his Instagram page last month, 18-year-old Cody Hooks was riding a bull at a rodeo in Belton, Texas, when he fell off the bucking animal.
While the other wranglers tried to get a hold of the bull, Cody’s father Landis gets on the ground and covers his son, who appears to have lost consciousness.
In a scary twist, the bull charges at the father and son, though Landis continues to shield Cody from the attack. It appears the animal struck Cody and Landis once.

While speaking to ABC News, Landis recalled, “Everything just got quiet. I just wanted to make sure that sucker didn’t come back and get on top of him like he was about to.
“Nobody could have stopped me,” the dad told the outlet about saving his son. “No matter what — I’m gonna do what I do, for him.”
He added, “It’s just part of the everyday cowboy life where I come from. Somebody gets down, you gotta help him.”
While Cody suffered a concussion from the fall and some bruising, Landis says he did not suffer any serious injuries.
Since the incident, Cody tells ABC News that he thinks “all the time” about what could have happened if his father had not jumped in.
“A lot of people don’t like to think about the injuries that happens in bull riding, especially after I get on,” Cody said.
Despite the scary incident, Cody says he will continue practicing the sport and hopes to go back to riding in two months — a decision that his dad supports.
