Married Couple Found Dead After Bike Ride in Daytona Beach

A married couple were found dead after investigators say they were viciously attacked while riding their bikes home in Daytona Beach, Florida.
As reported by WESH, a man and woman who officials say were married were found Sunday morning on the 700 block of North Wild Olive Avenue with multiple stab wounds and lacerations.
The victims were found on the side of the road, just a couple blocks off Main Street — close to events organized for Daytona Beach Bike Week.
Though police say they initially thought the attack was a hit and run, they noticed that the man and woman both had their throats slashed.
As of now, investigators believe the couple were attacked while riding their bikes home, but have yet to determine an exact motive.
While authorities are unable to determine whether the attack was targeted, they do not believe it was a robbery, as the victims’ valuables were left on their bodies.
While speaking to the press, Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young declared, “I've got to be honest with you, this is one of the most vicious and gruesome incidents that I've witnessed in my 20 years.”
"We can't make heads or tails of it at this time," Young added about the puzzling investigation.
Young adds that no witnesses have come forward, and that he and his team have very little information about a possible suspect or suspects.
"No one saw anything, no one heard anything," he said.
As reported by TooFab, police may have identified one sole person of interest: a male of an unknown race who was wearing white or light-colored pants and a backpack.
"I can tell you we are going to leave no stone unturned until we figure out the nexus as to why this happened," Young continued.
