Owner Reunites with 3-Legged German Shepherd After Hurricane Ida!

A Louisiana man has reunited with his three-legged German shepherd after the dog went missing amid Hurricane Ida.
Back in September, as the storm ravaged parts of the world including the Gulf Coast of the United States, Harrison Sibley evacuated from Louisiana to a friend’s home in Sevier County, Tennessee, with his 10-year-old dog Bear.
However, while Sibley was on a hike, Bear ran away.
After Sibley returned home to Louisiana, a Facebook group was created to raise awareness about Bear’s disappearance. Additionally, Sibley drove back to Tennessee hoping to find his pup.
“I came up to Tennessee four times since then. I drove three, flew once,” Sibley told WVLT.
As reported by WVLT in January, last October, a couple in Sevier County spotted a three-legged dog on their security camera. Though they initially didn’t think much of it, wife Trisha was on Facebook and saw Bear’s group.
For six days, the couple drove a total of 600 miles searching for Bear and put up more than 60 missing dog posters all over the Wears Valley area.
As reported by WVLT, last week, a couple in Tennessee — identified as Craig and Rebecca — trapped Bear and returned the dog to Sibley.
“It was so, it was like pure emotion, it was just like — I saw him, I guess the first thing in my head was just like, hold him, grab him,” Sibley told WVLT.
“It’s been six months of just growth, trying to grow as a person. You know, going through all the pain and I was just blessed enough to get him back and grow through all of it,” he added. “So I’m just happy to have him again in my arms, you know. I’m just thanking God that everything has gone back to normal.”
Sibley joked to WVLT that he plans to feed Bear a nice steak to celebrate his return.
