Starbucks Sued for Allegedly Serving Cleaning Solution!

A Starbucks customer has filed a lawsuit claiming he was served cleaning solution instead of coffee!
According to legal documents obtained by TMZ on Tuesday, Matthew Mitchell of Connecticut alleges he ordered a beverage from a local Starbucks store in August and began consuming the drink.
However, he claims he immediately felt a burning sensation in his throat and chest.
When Mitchell looked down at his cup, he alleges the liquid was blue and was a chemical substance.
After bringing up the issue to staff, they reportedly told him that it was the fault of a new employee.
However, he says the staff members did not realize that they were brewing coffee in a device that had just been cleaned with Urnex — which Starbucks reportedly uses to purify its machines.
In his suit, Mitchell claims the chain has a faulty system to alert employees when the machine is being cleaned — allegedly causing novice staff to serve tainted beverages.
While insisting that Starbucks should have a more thorough system in place, Mitchell alleges at least two other victims have sued Starbucks for similar cases.
Though he was eventually treated, Mitchell claims he continues to be affected by the alleged incident, and suffers from fear, heightened anxiety, and expensive medical bills.
Overall, Mitchell is asking Starbucks to claim responsibility and for monetary damages.
In response to the suit, the company told TMZ, “Our baristas take great care in crafting beverages and providing a safe experience for our customers. We take this obligation seriously and are reviewing Mr. Mitchell’s claims.”
