Cardi B Deletes Twitter & Instagram After Clashing with Fans for Not Attending Grammys

Cardi B has made her exit from Twitter and Instagram after fans criticized her for not attending the 64th Grammy Awards.
As reported by Billboard, numerous social media users tweeted at the “Bodak Yellow” rapper on Sunday for not attending the ceremony in Las Vegas despite her nomination for Best Rap Performance. (Cardi ultimately lost to Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar’s “Family Ties.”)
However, according to reported screenshots, Cardi explained that she never announced she was going to attend the award show.
“When did I hype y’all up ?” she reportedly wrote. “Where and when did I ever gave hints ? Like are you ok ? I’m not going to an award [show] if I don’t got a new song to perform or [if] my album ain’t out.”
“Next year,” she added.
In another reported tweet, Cardi explained she was at her house in New York — nowhere near Sin City.
“I been posting on my IG stories where I been at … like clearly I’m in my house and I’m in NY,” she reportedly wrote.
Following the backlash, Cardi announced that she was deleting her Twitter after fans began mentioning her family, including husband Offset and daughter Kulture.
“I’m deleting my Twitter but oh God I hate this ------’ dumb--- fan base,” Cardi reportedly wrote.
“You got the slow dumb----- dragging my kids all cause y’all [thought] I was going to the Grammys and I didn’t? The ----? When the ---- I hinted I was going? Just ------ stupid. I can’t. I need to protect myself.”
As reported by “E! News,” Cardi further elaborated on the drama in an Instagram Live video — posted before she deleted her account.
“Why would I go to the awards for?” she asked. “Do I have any new music? Why would I show up with one nomination?”
Once again, Cardi spoke out against those who mentioned her children, something that “really ---- the ---- out of me.”
“If you bring up my son, I hate you. I wish the worst on you,” she reportedly said, adding, “I don’t like it when ------------- attack me to do some ---- and then call me lazy because I’m not doing it.”
Per Billboard, Cardi previously took a break from Twitter in October 2020 and in March 2021.
