Rihanna’s Marble Statue Shuts Down the Met Gala!

Though she wasn’t physically at the Met Gala, Rihanna’s presence was felt!
On Monday, the day of the 2022 Met Gala, Vogue magazine published a video in which the “Umbrella” singer’s pregnant body was turned into a marble statue near other grand works at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
“The statue of ‘Eirene (The Personification of Peace)’ is usually the highest-profile marble goddess [at the museum’s] Greco-Roman galleries. But now we’ve got [Rihanna], straight off this month’s Vogue cover,” the magazine captioned the clip, referencing Rihanna’s stunning May cover.

In response, Rihanna posted the clip onto her page and joked that she “shut down the met in marble!”
“what’s more gilded than that? Lol!” she added, referencing this year’s Met Gala theme, “In America: An Anthology of Fashion.” “Thank you @metmuseum and @voguemagazine for this historic tribute! y’all bad for this one!”
Despite not attending this year’s festivities, Rihanna has attended past celebrations and is known for her extravagant fashions.
After performing at the 2015 bash, she was a co-chair in 2018 alongside Amal Clooney, Donatella Versace, and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
In her cover story for Vogue’s May issue, the hitmaker revealed that she and boyfriend A$AP Rocky weren’t necessarily “planning” their pregnancy, but they “certainly” weren’t “planning against it,” either.
“I don’t know when I ovulate or any of that type of ----. We just had fun,” she told the publication. “And then it was just there on the test. I didn’t waste any time. I called him inside and showed him. Then I was in the doctor’s office the next morning and our journey began.”
While she “always thought” her life “would be marriage first, then a baby,” the singer realized, “Who the ---- says it has to be that way? I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom.”
Pregnant or not, Rihanna is living her best life!
