Travis Scott Performs Publicly for 1st Time Since Fatal Astroworld Festival

Six months after his fatal Astroworld Festival, Travis Scott is returning to the stage.
On Saturday night, the “Sicko Mode” rapper performed alongside Migos’ Quavo during the Miami Grand Prix weekend at E11Even Miami.
Per TMZ and Page Six, the MC — who recently welcomed his second child, a baby boy, with Kylie Jenner — took the stage around 3:30 a.m. local time and performed for around 45 minutes.
Per Page Six, prior to the show, Scott held a bottle of Don Julio 1942 tequila while tossing cash into the crowd.
“Everybody owes me a shot,” he was quoted as saying. “We need every stripper to report to the ------- stage right now. We need every bottle reported to this ------------’ floor.”
During his set, Scott reportedly performed hits including “Goosebumps” and “Butterfly Effect” — from his 2018 album “Astroworld,” which bears the same name as the festival — as well as songs such as “Antidote” and “Bubbly.”
Attendees included Joakim Noah, Danny Amendola, Travis Kelce, Damson Idris, Terrence J, Karrueche Tran, Alec Monopoly, and Todd English.
Scott’s performance comes just two days after the six-month anniversary of the Astroworld Festival tragedy, in which 10 people died from injuries they sustained at the Houston festival.
Per reports, hundreds of fans got injured when concertgoers in the crowd of approximately 50,000 people began surging toward the stage.
Though Scott has largely stayed out of the spotlight since the horrific event, he as well as the concert organizers have been hit when an overwhelming number of lawsuits alleging negligence.
On January 26, the Texas Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation granted a motion to combine nearly 400 lawsuits — filed by organizers and victims — into one for a single judge. In the suit, nearly 2,800 victims will be represented and are seeking billions of dollars in damages.
The month before, Scott requested the dismissal of multiple lawsuits against him claiming that he and his company “generally” denied the allegations made in the suits.
That same month, Scott did an interview with Charlamagne Tha God and maintained that he did not know fans were getting hurt while performing.
“I didn’t know the exact details until minutes before the press conference [after the concert],” Scott said. “And even at that moment, you’re kind of like, ‘Wait, what?'“
“People pass out, things happen at concerts, but something like that…” he added.
