LeBron James Is a Billionaire!

LeBron James has accomplished yet another impressive feat — he’s a billionaire!
On Thursday, Forbes reported that the basketball superstar has an approximate net worth of $1 billion, based on their calculations.
After computing all of his revenue streams — including their projection that the Los Angeles Lakers small forward and shooting guard made $121.2 million last year — the business magazine says James has officially reached the 10-figure mark.
This means the 37-year-old is the first active NBA player to make the billionaires list. While fellow legendary basketball player Michael Jordan became a billionaire in 2014, he did so more than a decade after he retired.
“[James] has commanded more than $385 million in salary from the Cleveland Cavaliers, Miami Heat and Los Angeles Lakers as the NBA’s highest-paid active player. Off the court, he has raked in upwards of $900 million in income from endorsements and other business ventures,” Forbes wrote.
While breaking down his fortune, Forbes reports James has earned $300 million from his entertainment development and production company SpringHill; $90 million from his stake in sports investment company Fenway Sports Group; $80 million in real estate; $30 million for his stake in Blaze Pizza; and more than $500 million from cash and other investments.
Of course, James has long dreamed of being a billionaire.
In a 2014 interview with GQ, James said it was his “biggest milestone.”
“Obviously. I want to maximize my business. And if I happen to get it, if I happen to be a billion-dollar athlete, --. Hip, hip hooray!” he told the magazine. “Oh, my God, I’m gonna be excited."
Aside from making 10 figures, James has aspirations of owning his own NBA team.
“I got so much to give to the game. I know what it takes to win at this level. I know talent,” James told the Los Angeles Times in March. “I also know how to run a business as well. And so, that is my goal. My goal is to own an NBA franchise, and it will be sooner than later.”
Earlier this month, James placed second on Forbes' Top 10 Highest Paid Athletes List behind Argentinian soccer player Lionel Messi.
Dreams come true, Real Fam!
